Actually, I started cooking because of my wife. In order to impress her on our first date, I exerted myself in the kitchen. I figured a way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach. And it worked! We’ve been together ever since and have been happily married for 18 years. Down to the present day my original motivation hasn’t changed much. Cooking is love made visible. I want to allure and spoil people who are near and dear to me. However, as a gastrosexual man and “palate amorist” I’ve lifted the culinary power of seduction to another level. Top notch gourmet cuisine is my benchmark. And like many other men I’m not doing things by halves. I’m happy to spend every night of the week in the kitchen to prepare the mise-en-place for an 8-course menu. And whenever we are sitting at the table with our friends after a convivial evening and I’m looking in their enchanted faces while they sponge up the last drop of sauce, I’m on cloud nine.
